POETRY IN THE PARK 2015 is a huge success....

If you missed us this year, plan to come next year. Exciting plans for March 2016 to be announced soon. With 33 attending this year which included 8 high school students and 3 teachers we enjoyed our teacher Lola Haskins renowned poet from Gainesville Florida. The weather was delicious in Zion Park. We were even mentioned in the National Federation of State Poetry Society's newsletter by the new president Eleanor Berry. She said: The Utah State Poetry Society has a longstanding partnership with Zion Canyon Field Institute to conduct a 'Poetry in the Park' workshop in Zion National Park each spring. Nice to be recognized. (Click on photos to enlarge.)

We learned about making better Beginnings and Endings of our poems.
Lola Haskins shared many of her own poems.
Perfect weather for picnicking and hiking in Zion Parl.
