Not too LATE to register for POETRY IN THE PARK

Join us for the 9th annual POETRY IN THE PARK at Zion Park Lodge. Lots happening March 1-3, 2018 in So. Utah.


 Th, March 1st at 7 pm Z-ARTS POETRY READING at  Springdale’s Canyon Community Center featuring award winning poet Shanan Ballam-visiting poet from USU’s English Department. (Jim Barton had to cancel because of illlness.) Free. Stay overnight in Springdale at winter rates and attend Poetry in the Park on Friday. No shuttles or crowds, beautiful weather and friendly folks.

Fri, March 2nd 9am to 4 pm POETRY IN THE PARK workshop at Zion Park Lodge featuring Shanan Ballam, A Celebration of Sound and Sense, optional nature walk in Zion. Bring sack lunch or eat at the Redrock Grill in the Lodge. Fee-$55 for daylong workshop. Register by Feb 15 to get free park pass by mail at http://zionpark.org/program/poetry-in-the-park/

Fri, March 2nd CHAPARRAL POETRY AWARD PROGRAM, poetry readings by winners, students-7 pm, adults-8 pm at St. George Community Center behind the Sr. Center 250 W 250 N. Free.

Sat, March 3rd REDROCK CREATIVE WRITING SEMINAR 9am to 1:30 pm at St. George Comm. Center. Presenters will include Shanan Ballam who will speak on Elegant Solutions: Honesty in Facing Difficult Subject Matter, Lara Candland on The Art of Seeing, and DSU’s Cindy King on The Power of Creative Imagery in Prose.
